There’s been a fog running through these parts
For far too long. So much like my heart
It invites a song much too sad to sing to
It chills me through
But today’s a new day, the first one in a while
That I’ve seen the sun shine, it brings a whole new style
This aint cloud nine, but still I found a smile
This afternoon
Storms may shake me, winds might break my branches down
But I’ll stand tall with room to sprawl once the sun comes round
I head out to face the day, come whatever may
My hands are cold, my feet are soaking wet
I see no reason to let that prevent
My enjoyment of this day today
Today’s a treasure, though nothing lasts forever
So I’ll keep the memory of times that made me happy
I hope they’ll help me weather the inevitable
Grey skies passing over me
Storms may shake me, winds might break my branches down
But I’ll stand tall with room to sprawl once the sun comes round
